Social Security

This article is very long, but very in depth on the issue. Basically, it lays out the ideological reasons why the Bush administration wants to get rid of Social Security.

Say No to CAFTA!

Central NY Labor Federation, AFL-CIO Blog

There is a proposal to expand NAFTA to cover Central America and the Dominican Republic. As if we haven't lost enough of our manufactoring base, Congress will be taking up this proposal later this year.

Here is an article of how the AFL-CIO and the Teamsters are fighting the proposal so far:

Central NY Labor Federation, AFL-CIO Blog

There is a great debate now raging within the AFL-CIO, and throughout the whole labor movement.

There are two websites worth gravitating towards - www.unitetowin.org and www.aflcio.org/aboutaflcio/ourfuture/

The "Unite to Win" site is a site put out by unions who are pushing for structural change within the AFL-CIO. The "Our Future" site is by the AFL-CIO itself.

Be part of the discussion and check those sites out!
